Railway Safety Ongoing Upgrades

21/11/2024 201

Royal Railway PLC, in collaboration with the Department of Railways and Ministry of Public Works and Transport, is committed to passenger safety. We're actively implementing safety measures across our railway network.

Ongoing Upgrades:

  • Enhanced Railway Crossings: Improved markings and signage at all crossings along the Northern Railway route, starting from Phnom Penh Railway Station (Pk0 + 000) towards Poipet City (completed April 10, 2024).
  • Upgraded Traffic Signs: Clearer and more visible traffic signs for better information and awareness at railway crossings on both the Northern and Southern Lines (work commencing April 11, 2024).
  • Installation of Safety Equipment: Continued evaluation and implementation of additional safety measures at crossing points.

Your Safety Matters:

We urge the public to prioritize safety by following these crucial guidelines:

  1. Yield to Trains: Trains always have the right of way at railway crossings.
  2. Look, Listen, Wait: Before crossing, check traffic signs, signals, and listen for train sirens or horns.
  3. Obey Train Guards: Heed the instructions of train guards for safe crossing procedures.
  4. Stay Outside Barriers: Remain outside designated safety barriers whenever a train is approaching.

The Royal Railway remains dedicated to providing safe and reliable rail travel experiences for all. Together, let's ensure a safe and secure journey on Cambodia's railways
